He noticed the struggles of local farmers and wanted to improve their quality of life. The Keshar Kali family established their first mill, Annapurna Rice Mill, in 1999 and began sourcing rice from tribal farmers in high quantities, which was mutually beneficial. It was a small mill, and at that time, it was unknown that this move would sow the seeds for a legacy that would change the lives of farmers and food lovers alike.

This marked a milestone in Keshar Kali’s journey. Innovations were introduced according to the time, and the business expanded. One mill has now grown to three. The current generation of the Keshar Kali family registered the brand name in 2009. They took inspiration from the majestic ‘Keshar’ flower, which reflects the brand’s values of purity, elegance, and resilience.
